Can you check your NECO result by SMS?

As of 26 October 2026, NECO does not list SMS result checking on its official sites. neco.gov.ng and results.neco.gov.ng describe one channel: the online results portal, where you enter your exam year, exam type, 12-digit token and registration number.

Older guides, including earlier versions of this page, told candidates to text NECO*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear to 32327. That short code does not appear anywhere on NECO’s sites, so we no longer recommend it.

Why not just try the SMS?

Your token is a bearer PIN: whoever has the 12 digits can use your checks. Sending it to a short code NECO does not publish puts it somewhere NECO does not vouch for.

Check on the official portal instead

1. Open results.neco.gov.ng in your phone’s browser.
2. Select your exam year and exam type.
3. Enter your 12-digit token.
4. Enter your registration number: 10 digits + 2 letters on 2026 slips, 8 digits + 2 letters on older ones.
5. Tap Check my result, then save or print the page.

No data on your phone?

The portal is a normal web page, so a small amount of mobile data is enough. If you have none, ask your school or someone you trust to check on the portal with your registration number and token.
