NECO e-Verify (NERVS): what it is and how it works
Last updated: 2026-08-21
NECO e-Verify (NERVS) is an official system that lets universities, employers and other institutions confirm that a candidate’s NECO result is genuine. It is a verification tool — not the way a candidate checks results for the first time. For that, you still use a result token on the results portal.
Checking vs verifying
| Result checking | e-Verify (NERVS) | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | View your grades | Confirm a result is authentic |
| Who | Candidates | Institutions / employers |
| Tool | Result token + portal | NERVS at everify.neco.gov.ng |
How to verify a result on NERVS, step by step
Verification runs through the official portal at everify.neco.gov.ng. The flow (as published on the portal) is:
- Register an account on the portal and log in.
- Click Purchase Token to generate a payment token, then pay through Remita. NECO doesn’t publish the fee upfront — the amount is shown at payment, and there’s a USD option for international users.
- Log back in and validate the token payment.
- Submit the application with the candidate’s examination number.
- Download the PDF verification report from your dashboard — it’s also sent by email.
For institutions
Universities and employers verifying at volume don’t have to go one-by-one: the portal supports bulk verification via a CSV template and direct API integration. There’s also token transfer — a candidate pays for the verification and sends the institution their Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) instead of the institution paying.
For candidates
You normally don’t use NERVS yourself — your prospective school or employer does, to confirm the result you submitted. Two exceptions: an institution asks you to pay and send them your RRR (token transfer above), or asks you to bring the PDF verification report yourself. To get your result in the first place, buy a token and check your result.

Instant delivery for ₦2,450 — checks one result up to 5 times.
Frequently asked questions
What is NECO e-Verify (NERVS)? +
NERVS — the NECO e-Result Verification System — lets institutions confirm that a candidate’s result is genuine. It is for verification, not for first-time result checking.
Is e-Verify the same as checking my result? +
No. Checking shows your grades using a result token; e-Verify confirms an already-issued result for a university or employer.
Who uses NERVS? +
Universities, other tertiary institutions, employers and organisations verifying applicants’ results.
How much does NECO e-Verify cost? +
NECO does not publish the verification fee upfront — the exact amount is shown when you generate a payment token on the portal and pay through Remita (there is also a USD option for international users). It is a separate charge from a result-checker token.
Can I verify my own NECO result? +
Yes. Individuals can register on everify.neco.gov.ng, pay for a verification token and get a PDF confirmation report — useful when a school or employer asks you to provide verification yourself.
What is token transfer on NERVS? +
Instead of paying itself, an institution can ask you to pay for the verification and send it your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR). The portal calls this token transfer.
